what's wrong with this server?
k380, there is some problem with this server ,i find i can copy a file from /oradata,and i find these message in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log:
Dec 15 16:07:52 siu-lc vmunix: LVM: PV 0 has been returned to vg[1].
Dec 15 16:07:52 siu-lc above message repeats 5422 times
what's the matter

Hi,
Looks like you have a disk problem.
Does the syslog give you a hardware adress or a device like cXtXdX ?

My guess is a disk which is either failing or one way or another keeps dissapearing from the system. Maybe a link to the disk is failing.
I would look for other error messages in syslog about hardware failure. Also, a regular "ioscan" of the disks may show the odd "UNCLAIMED" or "NO_HW".

Hi,
I think that you have a faulty connection, either the disk our the path to the disk. The vg is the one who have a group file whose minor is 0x010000. The disk is the one with pv id 0, usually the first one created in the vg (almost sure it's the first disk for this vg in /etc/lvmtab.
