When make_tape_recovery ran last

Is there a command that I can issue that will tell me when the last time make_tape_recovery ran?

Hi:

# ls -l /var/opt/ignite/recovery/latest

Regards!

Re: When make_tape_recovery ran last

The output of the ls -l command ended with 2002-09-12,9:08. This is about an hour ago and I am absolutely positive no make_recovery was done an hour ago.

You can also check /var/tmp/ign_configure/make_sys_image.log but I believe you'll find that it agrees with /var/opt/ignite/recovery/latest

Re: When make_tape_recovery ran last

Hi (again):

This marker works for me. Do you cron a make_tape_recovery? Try 'cd'ing into the aforementioned:

# cd /var/opt/ignite/recovery/latest
# ls -l

Regards!

Re: When make_tape_recovery ran last

Thanks for the help. The reason the ls -l on the latest was not working is because a make_recovery_tape was initiated but then closed. Ignite notes this as the last time ignite ran even though nothing was actually done. However the /var/opt/ignite/recovery directory will have directories of other times ignite was launched. If you go into the other directories, then you can look at the logs to see if ignite actually created a tape, if it succeeded, and when.

Re: When make_tape_recovery ran last

Check the files in /var/opt/ignite/logs

There should be a log1 and a log2. Doing the following:

tail -2 /var/opt/ignite/logs/log1|head -1

will extract the date the last run finished.
