Where is B3901BA depot files?

Hi everybody.

I've a problem:
I have a hpux 11.0 server with HP C/ANSI C Developer's Bundle for HP-UX 11.00 (S800) installed.
Now I want to install this packet on anotehr server but I'm not able to find the cd-rom with the depot file to be installed.

How can I install this packet???
How can i find the correct cd-rom with the B3901BA Bundle?

I found a cd with the B3901BA Directory...but it's empty...and SAM can't install anything from this cdrom-...I don't know why...

Thansk in advance to anybody who can help me!

You would need a codeword to unlock/reveal this software.
Without that, it does appear if there is no product like that available.
My house is the bank's, my money the wife's, But my opinions belong to me, not HP!

Emanuele,

this is a licensed application, for which you need a codeword.

The codeword/customer ID is tied to a certain Application CD, you cannot use it for a newer CD.

So basically, you need get your system licensing documentation to identify the CD from which it was installed on the other server and get the form on which the corresponding codeword/customer ID is noted.

Re: Where is B3901BA depot files?

I am not sure, but is this depot code-word protected??

If you installed it on another server and it is codeword protected.
Then log on to that machine and find the file:
/var/adm/sw/.codewords

In this file you can find the CD-partnumber and the codewords. It won't tell you which entry belong to your specific package so if you have allot of codeword protected SW installed then you might end up with a long list of CD's to check

Re: Where is B3901BA depot files?

Hi,

If you are not seeing the s/w even after entering the code word mean, the entered codeword is a wrong one.

you have to make entry in file /var/adm/sw/.codewords

in the following format

CD-Part no. Customer_id Cust_id Codeword

mount the CD having the Part no. and should be able to see the unlocked software
never give up

Re: Where is B3901BA depot files?

I have this cd:

hp-ux 11.0 appliction software.
june 2003
cd number 5012-7831.

Now I find the file with the codewords provided...but the codeword I provide is correct...and I'm still not able to view ansi c packages..

PS I'm looking the HP contract with the customer identifier and the codeword...I dont' understand why this contract tell me ONE codeword but I'm reading we need one codeword for each cd. And the file .codeword contains one codeword for each cd...so someone must have known those codewords!!!
But where did he find them?!?

Well...now the problem is only to find the ansi c...

Re: Where is B3901BA depot files?

The first CD of June 2003 for HP-UX 11.00 contains B3901BA product.
Try to insert it and codeword.

Re: Where is B3901BA depot files?

Thanks to everyone!

I found the .codeword file and notice the cd used for the first installation on the firts machine. So I put that cd (older than the one I'm using) in the server...insert the codeword (read from the file) and...tadah...tha ansi c packet becomes available!

I've just finished installing it and everything is ok!

Thank to all....and
Ciao grazie a Ettore!

Re: Where is B3901BA depot files?

Just so everyone knows: codewords are CD part number specific, not product specific. On your codeword form, highlight the CDROM part numbers and make a note that the codeword is only good for this CD. You can ask HP to issue new codewords for newer versions of your CDs (free service) electronically or by fax or by phone.
