On my HP 715/100 workstaion, I don't see any Network Interface port(UTP) to connect my system to network but when I do ioscan, it shows that there is a netwrk card in the system. what I feel is..there is an in built NIC but port is not UTP, it is something else.
need your help on how to connect this system to my existing UTP network.
Warm regards,
Qamar

Re: where is NIC
If I remember correctly your 715 should have a AUI interface for the network. You will need to use a AUI - UTP transceiver.

Re: where is NIC
ou can not directly connect you 715 workstation to UTP network. It is very old Model so it does not have RJ45 i/f. it has AUI port and you will require converter/adapter for this.

Re: where is NIC
At that point network configuration is set with the script set_parms and is stored in the file /etc/rc.config.d/netconf
This applies based on my experience with HP-UX 11.00 and might be applicable to earlier versions of the OS.

Re: where is NIC
Mind that the maximum (and only) network speed this can give you is 10Mb/s.

Re: where is NIC
Also that 715 LAN runs 10Mbit/sec half duplex only.
