where to get bootable hp-ux cd
We have hp-ux box. For some reason it was shipped without any CDs.
Of course, file system got corrupted :(
I'm not experienced in solving this kind of issues. But I need to solve that one.
By the way, that box has no cd-rom drive as well. But I guess I can connect it as external scsi device. Is this correct?
But there is no installation cd. What to do?
Help me guys, please..

Re: where to get bootable hp-ux cd
Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately I don't see how we can be of much help. Your system should be under warranty. You should also have an HP rep to support you that can provide you with the Install CDs. If not, then call HP at their 800 number and see it they will help.
regards,
peg
p.s. maybe someone else has another idea :)

Re: where to get bootable hp-ux cd
What file system got corrupted? Is it one of the root file systems? Is the machine bootable? Is this a brand new machine?
Have you tried fsck'ing the filesystem? If it is a root file system your best bet would be to boot into single-user mode, activate the VG and then run fsck.
Any additional information you can give would help us to help you.
As to the CD-ROM problem, you should be able to attach an external SCSI CD-ROM, but depending on the type of system you have, there may be only certain models that you will be able to boot from. I don't remember what they are. You can always contact a HP remarketer and get a used HP external CD. That would almost surely work.
To get the CDs you can go through either the ITRC, using Software Update Manager, or go through the HP Response Center and request a set of CDs. Of course both of these options assume that you have a support contract for this machine.
