Check the users .cshrc file. It may be there. It depends on how it is setup.

e.g.

export ENV="$HOME/.cshrc"

Setup the shell variables:
export HISTFILE=~/.sh_history
export HISTSIZE=500

Sorry, your example of .cshrc is not suitable to csh.

I believe that that the csh stores the history in the ~/.history file. <-- Home directory for the user running the csh
