which kind of port console should connect?

i find two kinds of ports in machine that i think could connect console:serial and parallel
,which one is the correct port?

i cant try it myself cause i dont have the right line to connect the parallel port to check it

Hi

The serial port can be used for console.
The parallel port is used to connect a printer.
