Re: which port uses ignite

Through the install process various ports are used.

Initial network boot:

PA: 1067/1068 instl_bootd
or 67/68 bootpd

IPF: 67/68 bootpd

Kernel/FS transfer

PA & IPF: 69 tftpd

Client/server communications and archive load

PA & IPF: NFS (2049,1110)

Software load via software distributor:
PA & IPF: 2121 swagentd

It is also possible to use ftp or remsh for
software load which would use the ports for those protocols, but that is not the usual case.

Re: which port uses ignite

make_tape_recovery backs up to a local tape. No port configuration changes are required if the machine has a tape drive.

make_net_recovery writes a DR file to an NFS share on another server. To do that you'd need to open up NFS between the DMZ and whatever machine you choose to write the recovery file on.

NFS ports

1110
2049

Note that ignite will back up configuration, but will not get usable backups of databases such as oracle.
