Which version supports 11.23?

Hi, we have 4.3.123 on our ignite server(HPUX11.0). A new IA64-client arrives with 5.0.38 HPUX11.23. As I read 5.0* has a problem with HPUX11.0.

So, please, what is the right version to choose and where can I get it?

You can download all three bundles at work so that you have the same version on all platforms be they Itanium or PA-RISC

I don't know about serving IA images on PA-RISC and vice versa, but its probably possibe.

I'm pretty sure 5.x isn't available for PA-RISC(11.00 and 11.11)

Ignite 5.0 and higher support 11.23 which is 11i Version 2.

Currently, Ignite 5.x is on the application media, only.

Your link provides only v1.6 (B.11.22) and not 11.23 in the supported systems list.

That is because Ignite 5.x is not on the download site at the moment.

So I have to install 5.0.38 on the ignite server and it continues to support the other servers running 11.0 or will there be a problem?

My link provides you the option of clidking receive for free and then choosing the three bundles option.

This will get you versions for 11,11.11 and 11.22 at the very least. I think its in the 4.4 series of releases.

If you want to use 5.x i believe you can only do Itanium with that.

Currently 5.x should be used for 11.23 only. We're waiting for the next version of Ignite-UX 5.x to include All os's.

just to let you know about my experience:

in a lab environment I have an Itanium that came with Ignite 5.0.35 on the OS DVD. I swcopied/swinstalled that to an Ignite server running 11.11 and was able to recover an 11.0 client.

Note: It did have a problem after boot from client disk but I believe this was due to the "stone-age" FC card that this K420 still has (in ioscan it shows as Class lan). I had to manually ignore the errors, but recovery was successful.

However, I was *not* successful in trying a LAN boot of the Itanium client.
