Why does RPC hang?
Hello I have a large NIS cluster with nfs homdirectories that run disk quotas. RPC hangs randomly, causing some users not to be able to log in. It is random and does not affect all users of a system all the time or all systems at once, but restarting rpc on all the nodes does fix the problem. I had login on a system that said checking disk quotas, after restarting RPC the login finished fine. We have had no luck with HP support thus far, and are wondering if anyone else suspects a bug, and has seen fixed a similar issue. We have tried the latest and greatest patches with no avail. On a side note maybee someone has some code to look at whats going on with rpc to see why its hung exactly.
Thanks.
Thanks.
