why I am getting "not able to seek to inode 2835 in fset 999 in fsdb

I copy /sbin/init to /sbin/initold,but when I checked inode 2835i, I got this error. By the way, how to understand the script in the attachment?

Thanks,

# ls -i /sbin/init /sbin/initold
49 /sbin/init 2835 /sbin/initold
l
# fsdb -F vxfs /dev/vg00/rlvol3

Maybe your fsdb is not able to seek beyond 2GB? Is the file system >2GB? Is this 10.20?

BTW, where did you get this script from? What are you planning to do, i.e. what's the original problem? :-)

Questions over questions...

Are you getting these messages during fsck on that volume

Just do a
#fsck -F vxfs -o full /dev/vgxx/rvol?

The closest thing I could find was a fsck_vxfs patch for 10.20

check the below patch and their dependencies.

Re: why I am getting "not able to seek to inode 2835 in fset 999 in fsdb

If you are using the 'fsdb' on a HP-UX10.20 system that can be the problem with the >2GB situation. As workaround you can copy the 'fsdb' binary from a HP-UX11.00 system to the HP-UX10.20 box, that should work fine.

The 11.00 /sbin/fs/vxfs/fsdb binary does not work on 10.20.
