I have successfully done the installation on my B2000 workstation using the same depot. The depot is not corrupted since the cksum command shows the same output.

Re: Why Ignite-UX C.6.2.241 installation fails?

Hi,

Normally this kind of problems can be solved by restarting the swagentd dameons both nodes.

Just kill the process and restart by

#/sbin/init.d/swagentd start

Enjoy :)

Hi,

Apart from restarting swagent you could try by putting the depot file locally and then retry reinstall.

hi,

besides restarting swagentd, any problem resolving "myhostname" from that machine:

# nslookup myhostname

Re: Why Ignite-UX C.6.2.241 installation fails?

Thanks for suggestion althought the problem still exists. I restarted the swagentd but it did not helped.

myhostname is just my trick not to post the correct name of the server ...Of course it does not matter as you know.

I am doing the installation from B2000 workstation console over telnet session to myhostname. The depot is on the local filesystem (myhostname node). I don't understand why it mentions remote file??

BTW, addition to swinstall GUI, the 'swinstall -s /var/tmp/Ignite-UX-11-11_C.6.2.241_HP-UX_B.11.00_32+64.depot \*' command ends up to the same error.

swagentd.log output has some other errors:

Any suggestions?

Re: Why Ignite-UX C.6.2.241 installation fails?

hi,

was there any changes to /var/adm/sw/defaults? or rather any line added after the comment box?

since u r doing a swinstall on a local depot, it should be straightforward:

# cd /
# swinstall -s /var/tmp/Ignite-UX-11-11_C.6.2.241_HP-UX_B.11.00_32+64.depot
select the software from the GUI and install.

regards.

Re: Why Ignite-UX C.6.2.241 installation fails?

Ok,

I got it working now. I edited the /var/adm/sw/defaults file to include:
swinstall.use_alternate_source=true

And then I re-started the swagentd as suggested.

Thanks for your help.
