Will N class server support HPUX 10.20 OS?

Hi Admins,

Will N class server support HPUX 10.20 OS, Oracle 7.3.4?

Also please let me know the links where the support information is available.

No. N-boxes are 64-bit OS versions only. 11.0 was the earliest OS version that ran on an N. If you must do this then look for an old K-box ; they are dirt cheap on the used-equipment market.

Of course, you are aware that you are trying to run an out-of-support application on an out-of_support OS version.

IIRC the last/biggest/baddest HP 9000 high-end server which supported 10.20 was the T500. In the midrange it would have been the K580.

Either of those would have rings run around them by contemporary HP 9000 or HP Integrity hardware.

I see that others have covered the "well past EOL" bit.

Now, getting into the lunatic fringe part, I think the most recent systems to support the 10.20 OS were some of the "four digit" workstations - but I cannot recall which one. Those could get you to a handful of PA-8500 CPUs running a 10.20 ACE. Of course I doubt that Oracle would be "supported" on a workstation...

N Class will not support 10.20 , try installing 11.00 , or 11i , Btw, why are you so outdated. :)

Check the pdf above , N class will support 11.00 64bit plus. Btw latest os is 11i v3. Want to try...

might be able to run 734 oracle in 32 bit mode on 11.0 64 bit. people were doing that when 11.0 first came out.

Re O/S supportability, page 1 of "Overview and Safety & Regulatory Information, HP 9000 rp7400 Server (N-Class)" manual, http://docs.hp.com/en/2453/customer_overview_and_safety.pdf mentions:

"Software Overview
The HP-9000 rp7400 server is designed to operate using HP-UX version
11.0 or newer."
