Will SAM cause interruption in configuring APA

Will SAM cause interruption in configuring APA.
The system I will work on has already got two APAs in operation, I don't want to interrupt them when I configure the third APA.

When we use command line to add new APA it interrupt the other APA.

When we used sam to add new APA for systems with running APAs, we did not notice any network interruption by monitoring using ping command.
