Windows Graphical Console through HPVM
I mistakenly disabled the LAN connection of a Win2k3 server running in an HPVM guest. Now of course I cannot use remote desktop to access the server to re-enable it. I can access the HPVM console through HP-UX but it is command line and I don't know how to re-enable a network interface this way.
Has anyone faced this and can offer help? Is there a means to access a graphical console through HPVM without going through the network? Thanks.

Re: Windows Graphical Console through HPVM
Bonsoir JxD,
<<< Is there a means to access a graphical console through HPVM without going through the network >>>
No, you can't, even if you have a graphical console connected on the Itanium box, since the virtual HP VM console is not graphic.
But you have access to the Windows CLI through the SAC channels from the "hpvmconsole". If it is possible to re-activate the lan with a Windows command you can do it from there.
But I have a big doubt that you will find this magic answer in this forum. Try in Microsoft forum : http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/familyhome.do?familyId=116
Regards
Eric

Re: Windows Graphical Console through HPVM
hi JxD,
â ¢ Enable remote desktop connection from a headless server - The remote administration mode is
enabled by default on Windows Server 2003 if you are using the OS supplied as part of the HP
Reinstall media. If you are installing or reinstalling using Microsoft RTM media, the Remote
Desktop functionality is disabled. To enable remote desktop connection go to the SAC prompt and
enter:
reg add â HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Serverâ /v
fDenyTSConnections /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
