write to tape well, but can't read back???

we're using DLT tape drive to backup, but whenever I write a big file(200M) to a tape, using tar or dd, it seems good when writing, but when I read it back from tape, I got tape err/IO err, don't know why.

but when I tried small files, it's all OK.

BTW, we used compress mode of DLT for writing.

Hi Garry
Try :-
1. Clean the drive
2. New tape
3. Write using fbackup
