Wrong font in 'iso-8859-1' encoding

Hi all,

I am working with ME10 in HP-UX, when init ME10 i get the following error message:

Font 'hp8.10x20b' cannot be used in 'iso-8859-1' encoding.

How can i change the encoding iso-8859-1 in the HP-UX system?

The HP-UX is localized in spanish, so i think the problem is in the O.S.

Any suggestion will be welcome.

Frank

Ciao Frank,

unfortunately I don't know a solution. Perhaps updating your HP-UX system can help you. I think that your HP-UX system is very old! What is the O.S. version?

Best regards,
Ettore

Re: Wrong font in 'iso-8859-1' encoding

with older versions of ME10, you must set MEDISPLAYDRIVER to sox11.
then set your MEFONT var to any X11 font in your search path.

not setting MEDISPLAYDRIVER or setting it to something other than sox11
will cause ME10 to use the default font (hp8.8x16) contained in the ME!0 dir. However, any valid X11 font should able to be
used if running ME10 in Xwindows.

eg ME10F -fn hp8.6x13 where the font is from /usr/lib/X11/fonts
without the suffix .scf of .snf.

So if this doesn't work what O/S and version of ME10 are we talking here ..... ?

Re: Wrong font in 'iso-8859-1' encoding

Hi,
thanks for your responses, sorry for my mistake. The O.S. is HP-UX 10.20.

Alex: I will try your suggestion, but i am going to a trip next week, so perhaps in one week i could prove it.

thanks.
Frank.
