Wrong LAN interface used after upgrade
We found out that after the reboot the interface numbers from LANports on the additional LAN card have changed from
4 and 3 to 2 and 1 .
Output from lanscan before the upgrade (HPUX-10.20):
Hardware Station Crd Hardware Net-Interface NM MAC HP DLPI Mjr
Path Address In# State NameUnit State ID Type Support Num
8/16/6 0x080009AE18BC 0 UP lan0 DOWN 4 ETHER Yes 52
8/8/2/0 0x00108304B6E2 4 UP lan4 DOWN 5 ETHER Yes 119
8/8/1/0 0x00108304B6E1 3 UP lan3 UP 6 ETHER Yes 119
Output from lanscan after the upgrade (HPUX-11.00):
Hardware Station Crd Hardware Net-Interface NM MAC HP DLPI Mjr
Path Address In# State NameUnit State ID Type Support Num
8/16/6 0x080009AE18BC 0 UP lan0 DOWN 4 ETHER Yes 52
8/8/2/0 0x00108304B6E2 2 UP lan2 DOWN 5 ETHER Yes 119
8/8/1/0 0x00108304B6E1 1 UP lan1 UP 6 ETHER Yes 119
After we adjusted the parameter INTERFACE_NAME[0] from lan3 to lan1 in the /etc/rc.config.d/netconf file the application was reachable again.
what must have happened meanwhile ?
Thanks

Re: Wrong LAN interface used after upgrade
But can you please elaborate more.
I am finding it bit difficult to make out what you have recommended.
Thank you so much,
Aravind

Re: Wrong LAN interface used after upgrade
I've never figured out why, but I tend to do cold installs.
