WRQ Reflection/X v12 and HP-UX 11i

Is anyone out there using Reflection/X version 12 in a HP-UX 11i/CDE environment? Any problems/issues?

Don't know about 12 but I am running 13 and it's fine.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

I ran an eval of 12 fine - when I ordered, I got 13, which works quite well

Pete,

I think the fact that people are getting 13 when they expect 12 says something.

If anyone has done VLAN segmentation in your shop, that could interfere with it.

I've run an exhaustive search for version 12, its not there, nobody seems to be selling it.

The evidence suggests a problem.

We've been using it in our company for a *long* time and it suits us very well. It's robust software and can be customized to suit. We're on 13 now... can't remember having any particular issues with 12.

Pete, we are using it for a long time and didnt face any major issues with that. Anyways, its 13.

OK, I think that pretty well covers it. Version 12 is the last we saw through our automatic update program. We'll check on 13.

Thanks for your help!

P.S. Clay - sorry to have missed your session in Orlando. I picked that particular week to come down with the first cold I've had in years and just couldn't make it through the whole day. Going to Houston?

P.P.S. Steve - sorry for the finger check when I assigned your points. A further response would allow me to make up for it!

Re: WRQ Reflection/X v12 and HP-UX 11i

I used to use 12, but switched to 13 to fix 2 issues.

The first issue was an annoying bug where the x-windows manager would turn on the x-desktop randomly. It wouldn't be checked in the settings, but it would be on. The fix was easy before the upgrade, just turn it on and then turn it off.

The second issue was a fix to the secure shell implementation. Under 13, you can use key-agents on your PC.

I know your question was about using Reflections with CDE but wanted to point out an issue with using Reflections Secure Shell. Make sure you uncheck Keyboard Interactive, under Advanced, as the HP Secure Shell does not support this.
