wu-ftp problems after converting to trusted system
i'm unable to sign on via ftp after converting to a trusted system. i'm trying to implement the use of a shadow password file.
i'm using wu-ftpd-2.6.2, compiled with SHADOW=1.
any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks,
chris

Re: wu-ftp problems after converting to trusted system
You might want to just install the depot version from HP. HP dealt with these issues before building the binaries.
Link:
http://www.software.hp.com/cgi-bin/swdepot_parser.cgi/cgi/displayProductInfo.pl?productNumber=WUFTPD26
Click the Get for Free Link.
There is a binary upgrade to lay down on top of this release, to deal with the /etc/ftpusers file not blocking ftp access. that you have to get from HP support.
Or me.

Re: wu-ftp problems after converting to trusted system
It's important to note that HP's Trusted System is not a simple shadow password system so unless the WU-FTPD code has specifics for HP-UX Trusted database information, it will fail. Starting with patches around the year 2000, WU-FTPD became the standard FTP daemon but with code changes to handle HP-UX Trusted systems.
