WWLUN_ID's increase after reboot (Snapshot disks)
We have two snapshot disks created by our SAN appliance and presented to our HP-UX server.
The TGT/LUN on the HP-UX server changes from 1/4 to 1/6 after a reboot. The WWLUN_ID next to last four hex numbers change also (such as
017E to 01A9). See example below
Why do these values change? I end up having to change the the vgchid and vgimport commands in the mounting of the snapshots for Dataprotector to backup the snapshots after a reboot of the sever.
Example of one:
ADD SNAPSHOT bc_cannon_oracle vdisk="\Virtual Disks\Test\cannon_oracle\ACTIVE" ALLOCATION_POLICY=DEMAND
ADD LUN 5 VDISK="\Virtual Disks\Test\cannon_oracle\bc_cannon_oracle" HOST="\Hosts\hp-ux\cannon"
Now on the HP-UX server
Do a spmgr display
TGT/LUN Device WWLUN_ID H/W_Path #_Paths
1/ 6 c7t1d6 6005-08B4-0001-085E-0001-8000-01A9-0000 4
255/255/0/1.6
Controller Path_Instance HBA Preferred? Path_Status
