X.25 Connectivity......
Hi,
We Have a X.25 Card, We want to connect these to X.25 Network.
I don`t know what devices are required to connect these card to X.25 Network.
And also what are the other details required to configure X.25 card.
We also have MC/Service Guard Configured
Can we configured these card for MC/Service Guard Redundancy.
If yes than what devices are required in the above mentioned Scenario.
Thanx.....
Jai

Re: X.25 Connectivity......
Hi
X25 is simple for connection in all that is required is the x25 card, cable and x25 circuit.
The configuration files are in /etc/x25/ and are x29hosts, x3config and normally x25conf.
SAM will do the configuration for you, it will require the x25 address, dte/dce, virtual circuit info (service providor should give you this info),plus flow control info etc.
X25 cards are very good at indicating if you have a viable network connection in that if you connect, configure and start the card (SAM) or :- x25init -c /etc/x25/x25configfile (which is reboot command)
If the card stays up then 99% of the time your config and connection is OK, whereas if the card does not stay up then you know you have a problem.

Re: X.25 Connectivity......
Jaikishan,
I dont know if you need to find the answer has sufficed.I am a bit rusty on X.25 now but could surely clear your doubts.
he connection depends on how big /small or how important is your setup.
You can use leased lines and high speed modems for connection.the service provider wil recommend you whioch modems to use.You connect a high speed modem to the x.25(DTE) card using a cable offcourse. The other modem will lie at the service providers office (DCE) ie probably MTNL.which will conect to the X.25 cloud.same is at the opposite side.
Also You can use X.25 Switches if you r going to use multiple connections and your setup is large. The switches may connect to VSAT.
Rest of the configuration can be done using sam.
