X.25 link down?
After I configured x.25 parameters in SAM, I use command x25stat -d /dev/x25_0p1 | grep -i state to verify the status of x.25. However, the output of command indicate that x.25 link is down:
tate : Unknown
Link state : OFF
Link State :HDLC_IDLE
If I use x25check to test the connectivity with remote system, it returns the follwing code:
Unable to connect to remote node
VC_CLEAR Packet was received with
CAUSE 0 : DTE Originated
DIAG 232 : OSI Network Service Problem - Connection Rejection - NSAP unreachable ( permanent condition )
The result of x25ifstate is :
X.25 interface present, but not up (OFF)
What is the likely cause? Is this problem related with communication channel setup?
Thanks a lot!

Re: X.25 link down?
If you have an X25_0p1, this means that your card have 2 ports.
Try to connect the cable on the second port...
May be you didn't start the x25 program.
x25init .... and all the parameters...
hth,
Benoit

Re: X.25 link down?
Actually, I run x25init command. I also try to connect the other port as well. But problem still exists.

Re: X.25 link down?
Check your configuration, if it is correct in sam when you apply the params the card state will display as UP.

Re: X.25 link down?
/usr/contrib/bin/x25info > /tmp/x25info.out will produce output that will be helpful to you and to HP Support should you need to log a support call.
From the info you have supplied, it sounds possible that you need to double check all cable types and modem port status, that might help.
Good HP X25 docs online at http://docs.hp.com -> Networking/Communications -> X.25
Hope this helps and Happy Holidays,

Re: X.25 link down?
I had a cable with V.35 interface shipped from HP. But my modem had a RS-232 interface. As a result, I used a V.35 to RS232 converter. Is this configuration applicable?
Thanks a lot
