X remote login configuration
Hi,
I have a B2600 workstation, running HPUX 11.i MTCOE. I want it to act as a X terminale. I mean, to remote login to a server.
The server is a C3750, with a graphic card but no screen.
I can connect but not the way I want...
here what I did:
On both the woorkstation and the server, I commented out the line in /etc/dt/config/Xservers so no X server comes up.
I run "X -query serverip" on the workstation, I get the login screen, no problem.
If I try to log as root, I get a black screen and never get anything else.
In the /.dt/startlog on the server, I can see it tries to open the server's display (dthello: can't open display).
I uncommeted the line Dtlogin*authorize: False on the workstation, but nothing change...
I tried to log with another user. it did get trough, I got an hpterm, but no real desktop!!
Also I'd like to start automaticly the remote login (X -query) after the boot, how can this can be done?
I am probably missing something, please any suggestion are welcomed!!

Re: X remote login configuration
Add this to /etc/profile or .profile of the users you want to log on.
DISPLAY=$(who -m -u | awk '{print $8}'):0.0
export DISPLAY
Also make sure that X hasn't been blocked by security upgrades.
