X windows dumps a core when i start it on my K210 server

X windows dumps a core when i start it on my K210 server

I just installed HPUX 11.11 from the june Cd on my K210 server it has 4 processors and a graphics card in it. when dt login starts it dumps a core as soon as i type in my login and password.

but when i disable 3 processors and only start it on processor 0 it works fine. the system runs ok with all 4 processors it only dumps when i try to start X.
my graphics card info:
graphics 0 10/8 graph3 CLAIMED INTERFACE Graphics

can anyone help?

do you have the latest firmware for K class servers installed?

yes, i just upgraded to v 2.9

After CDE comes up when trying to enter username/password
the Xserver core dumps. It also core dumped when using
x11start.

If the customer disables one of the CPUs the Xserver
does not core dump

Paul,

I'm fortunate to work for the UK Response Centre (actually it's a double-edged sword but I won't go into that ;)) As such I have access to information which customers may not be able to see, or which is very new and also access to a very good internal database of previously
logged issues.

However it does require some effort and a bit of intuition on occasions.
