x25: migration of configuration post HPUX 11.0 to 11i upgrade

Hi all,

We have an HP Server (model 9000/800/A500-6X)currently running HPUX 11.0 plus x25.
* J2793B B.11.00.07 High Performance X.25 Link software for HP 9000

We intend to upgrade it to HPUX 11i (clean install 11i) and install the x25 application on the 11i and migrate the configuration across.

Would anyone have any tips or possible links to migrate the x25 configuartiuon across OR is it best to get HP to do the x25 installation.

Thanks for the response - I will look it up.

Main concern being this is something I have not done before and we do not have a test bed to play with and but needs to be done on a production platform hence trying to get as much information as possible.

Assuming the PSI card is the same card type, all the config files from /etc/x25 can be copied across with no changes. As Peter's article mentions, the card should be configured in SAM to set up the device files properly. If you reference the old config files from SAM, those parameters will become the default answers in the SAM dialogue.

Even if the card types are different, the device filename would be the only thing you may have to change.
