How can i install XDM ?
I can't find it on the CORE CD.

Why don't you just continue your previous thread?

Re: XDM

If you do an> swlist -l fileset UXCoreMedia
and it lists; UXCoreMedia.CDE and UXCoreMedia.X11 then you have X11 and XDM installed and running. If you do a ps -ef|grep dtrc and its running then you can XDM into your host.

Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...

Re: XDM

What exactly are you after ?

fyi a normal install of the CDE Run time enviroment will include all the basic X libs and binaries required to run X both locally and remotely. CDE will run as default and dtlogin be be configured to manage XDMCP requests by deault.

you should also have a /usr/bin/X11/xdm binary togehter with a /usr/lib/X11/xdm on the system.

Is your problem wrt PC Xemulation ? ifyes is the dtlogin process running on your unix host ?

Re: XDM

Hi,

why don't you simply set the "Dtlogin*xmdMode: true" option in "/etc/dt/config/Xconfig" and (continue to) use that one?

Just my $0.02,

Re: XDM

I don't have installed the system on the server
I'm a new administrator.
I do > swlist -l fileset UXCoreMedia and the result in UXCoreMedia.txt
I have searched in /usr/bin/X11 , /usr/lib/X11
and in all X11 dir , i have no XDM file.
And in /etc/dt/config i don't have Xconfig but a Xserver dir.
I don't understand perhaps i should uninstall something ???

Re: XDM

If that's the case I'd be tempted to swremove

HPUXEng64RT B.11.00.01 English HP-UX 64-bit Runtime Environment

this will contain the relevant CDE and X binaries etc you appe
ar to be missing.

fyi s
