Xerox DocuCentre 340ST Input Tray selection

We have a Xerox DocuCentre printer and HPUX 11.00 as operating environment.
I can print to the DocuCentre fine, however I cannot do a input tray selection which would be rather important.
Anybody having any ideas ? I would appreciate all the help !

Thank you very much,

Bernd

Hi

You will need to make your own spooler interface file.
/etc/lp/interface/printer
or
/etc/lp/interface/model.orig/printer

If on the network.

/var/spool/lp/model/laserjet5Si

Shows how hp chooses between bins

You need to get the correct escape sequences from Xerox

Re: Xerox DocuCentre 340ST Input Tray selection

Hi ,
I'm using Xerox printer and I manage input trays,
for this I installed Xerox tools,
and with these tools you can manage easily trays and so on.
these tools can be downloaded on www.xerox.com (seach on 340ST and then dirvers, select for Unix).
I'm personnaly using the xprint tool with the proper option..

Hope it will solve..

Re: Xerox DocuCentre 340ST Input Tray selection

Hi,

we did a testdrive on a DocuCenter 540. There was a really nice tool which you could use with a GUI or on commandline to access the trays and all the stuff thats on the DC.

AFAIK this tool replaces the lp command only for this printer and sets its own modelscript.

Go to the Xerox homepage and search for the 340ST. Then go for the UNIX drivers.

If you can't find something, i might be able to send you our (perhaps old) testsoftware. but this pretty big (11MB) for a eMail.

Hope this helps
