Hi,
I am facing a display exporting problem here at one hp-ux server. Model rx3600, runing os hp-ux 11.23. Getting GUI at local console. But while exporting the display to a remote PC IP addres it gives te following error.
# export DISPLAY=10.1.12.109:0.0
# echo $DISPLAY
10.1.12.109:0.0
# xhost +
xhost: unable to open display "10.1.12.109:0.0"
#
I tried these commands from the local GUI console of the server. I am able to telnet from the windows PC to server.
Please help to solve the issue.
Thanks in advance,
Pramod M

Re: xhost: unable to open display

Thanks

Re: xhost: unable to open display
Then the PC has to be running some X-server.
And the PC should be told to allow display requests from the source, through an xhost + (or more specific) command on the PC, not on the HPUC box.
Think about it... it would be too easy if a guest could just tell the host 'trust me and the rest of the world'. That's what your xhost command was trying.
;-)

Re: xhost: unable to open display
what does 'echo $DISPLAY' and 'xhost +' says without doing the export command at the beginning?
