Xterminals and 11.32

I read some "recent" threads on Xterminals http://forums12.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1094512&admit=109447627+1196869339678+28353475
and wanted to get some clarifications:

It sounds like HP-UX 11i V2 will NOT boot Xterminals. Any ideas why?

We use the Xterminals in conjunction with Citrix clients and Windows Terminal server (running on NT4 - Uhg!) for access from our manufacturing areas to our ERP system. We are looking at upgrading our systems to newer platforms (Integrity) and OS (at least V2 if not V3). I'd like to know if anybody is still using Xterminals in such a configuration. Any input would be appreciated.

No, I haven't tried, but in the previous post it mentioned both NCD and HP xterminals can boot from 11.23.

Your problem therefore maybe getting hold of the right s/w ?

HP xterminals used either enware or enware2 dependant on the model in question entria / envizex or entriaII and envizexII's. This was last available at 11.00 on it's own separate install CD, may have been on the apps cd or on an ftp site hosted by HP.

NCD xterminals used ncdbridge s/w see http://www.ncd.com/doc/unix_inst.pdf I've had a brief look at the doc and it doesn't mention 11.23 (maybe a good sign), but the s/w again is in TAR format so should be easily installed, whether it works is another matter but previous post suggest it can be done.

Alex,

The good news for me is that I have copies of the most recent Enware depots. Thanks for the info.
