Xvfb on HP/UX 11.0

I am trying to track down Xvfb for HP/UX 11.00 but have not been able to do so. I've also tried to build it from the X11R6.4 source code on www.x.org, but have been unsuccessful with that as well.

Does anyone have any suggestions or pointers that might help me get Xvfb running?

As you're probably aware Xvfb ( X virtual framebuffer) is an unsupported application, i beleive develloped to test X applications without the need for a bitmapped display.

That said I had a customer earlier this year who also requested this, I think I was given a 10.20 compiled version that runs fine at both 10.20 and 11.xx ... i just tested it ! I have it in sdux depot format and could put it out on an external ftp site if you wish ?

We gave up any hope of finding a working version of Xvfb for HP/UX. I am very surprised that it is not supported by HP even though it is a part of the standard release for X11 nowadays.

Anyway, the solution that we are going to run with is using something called the Pure Java AWT Toolkit. It will basically supply all the AWT routines without requiring X11 to be running. For more information, check out:

It is release under a GNU software licence (i.e., it is free to use!).
