Y2K on HP-UX 10.20

Does anybody know, how I have to install the Y2K-Patch (tar archive) in my
HP-UX system?

You can look at the following location on the Web, the installation process is
described.
...
For the 10.x bundle, after downloading the appropriate depot, execute the
following, with the appropriate bundle designation (for bundle_num):

#swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x match_target=true -s
/tmp/bundle_num.tar

Do not use tar(1). Leave the .tar extension on the bundle file name.

Install the bundle:

/usr/sbin/swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x match_target=true \
-s /tmp/Y2K-.tar

Where is one of the following:

1020S800
1020S700
1010S800
1010S700
1001S800
1001S700

Please refer to our website for the latest information (including the
installation guide):

Hi Mr.Dani,

tar files you need to untar first.
Example,
#tar -xvf

then,

#swinstall -l

There is no single Y2K patch for 10.20. All the required changes are in dozens of patches which are probably already installed unless your system has not been kept up to date. Since there hundreds of patches that must be installed, you will need to download the Support Plus bundles. Although 10.20 has been obsolete for many, many years, you are in luck that HP still has the Support Plus websites active:

http://h20293.www2.hp.com/SUPPORT_PLUS/gr.html
http://h20293.www2.hp.com/SUPPORT_PLUS/hwcr.html

I would download both packages immediately before they disappear. Use swinstall to add the patches. Plan for about 3 hours of downtime during the patch session.
