I have been assured that HP-World will be happening next year. My agreement when I accepted my current promotion was regular training, which I have been getting at itrc forums this year due to budgetary problems. Two years in a row missing the World would give me cause to move based on my informal agreement with management. Frankly its HP-World's loss they contacted me about presenting this year.
Normally when someone says they don't want to be rude. They are just that. But, I want it known, I like everyone here whether they are currently on my nerves or not.
Now as to HP-World.
At the exact moment that you are gathering in the bar, 6 p.m. Eastern Sunday, I will be breaking out a beer and having it, raising my glass to my fellow forumers. You guys are a class act, even when you're on my nerves.
I will be in a campsite in South Dakota, on my way to Wyoming. I will be with the three most precious people in my life, my wife, my son and my daughter.
While bitterly disappointed that I'm not going to HP-World, I am thankful for my family which is really something to be envious of. I am thankful that I still have a job in an economy where Lucent laid off one of my best friends, a talented C programmer and gifted Rabbi last December and he's still not been able to get a job.
I now completely divurge off topic and reflect upon my first year as an itrc forumer.

I actually had no idea what I was doing. HP Software support referred me to an itrc post last summer and I got into this by accident. Some probably are unhappy about that accident. I don't care. I try hard to improve myself.

Well, nearly 12,000 points later, I've really found a place online I call home. I solve nearly every problem I have simply by finding old itrc posts or documents. I use it as a command reference when I don't have my notes handy.
