Re: About the virus software

Hi ,
Linux has Amavis antivirus software which comes in Linux CD.
I hope so linux won't be affected by virus. The percentage of systems(linux)affected with virus is very less.
But you can use this Amavis software to check for virus.

Re: About the virus software

IF the virus is designed to attack windows, the answer is no.

It will do nothing to your linux system.

If its in mail it could be in your /var/mail/username files on the Linux box but again can not likely harm the Linux system.

A Linux virus can be written with three or four lines of code.

Symmantec does have a line of products for Linux. Also, if your Linux box is openned up for Samba shares a conventional NAV client like Symmantec or Macafee will be quite effective at scanning the shares.

Re: About the virus software

on a Red Hat Linux server!!! nops you won't get affected with virus..

but you can install an antivirus software for it to scan for all the mails for viruses.

http://www.trendmicro.com. Trend micro has a good antivirus product which can be installed on any mail servers to scan for all incoming & outgoing and as well as the mail stores on /var/mail/username

and that is interscan VirusWall for Unix
