mkfs /dev/md?

Above command effect in my exsting data

If it worked and didn't produce any errors, whatever was on /dev/md? is now toast.
Never preceed any demonstration with anything more predictive than "watch this"

mkfs or the Unix successor newfs(which uses mkfs on HP-UX) will always destroy data on the target filesystem.
