Re: ARIES32: Core file for PA32 application saved to /home/si_admin/core.bash

Hi Dennis,

Thanks.

What is IPD?
You are right, I did not install the libiconv with swinstall. I am new to HP Unix and I always install using SAM.

However, it seems both the version of libiconv files exist.

# file /usr/local/lib/hpux32/libiconv.so
/usr/local/lib/hpux32/libiconv.so: ELF-32 shared object file - IA64

# cd /usr/local/lib

# ls -l libiconv*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root sys 973280 Dec 4 20:36 libiconv.a
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root sys 765 Dec 4 20:36 libiconv.la
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root sys 26 Feb 1 14:08 libiconv.sl -> /opt/gnome/lib/libiconv.sl

# file libiconv.sl
libiconv.sl: PA-RISC2.0 shared library -not stripped

Please suggest,

SAM uses swinstall.

Then you should be able to run your PA application that uses the PA version and bash that uses the IPF version.

Can you use chatr on the IPF bash?
If it is pointing to the one in /usr/local/lib/? If it is pointing to libiconv.so, you can add a symlink in lib that points to hpux32/lib.
