can not copy file on TFTP sever unless already exist in server
I install a ciscowrks 2000 system in B180L WS with HPUX 10.20, there are a function can get router config in TFTP sever, but it didn't work.I found that you can not write file to TFTP sever unless this file already exist in this server even it is empty file, it means you only can overwrite a file instead of copy, I try copy file from another HPUX and a router, the result is same.
how can I copy file without create it firstly
best regards

Re: can not copy file on TFTP sever unless already exist in server
You cannot. That's the nature of 'TFTP'.
The HP-UX version of the TFTP server might have some extended options to do such, but I do not know what they would be, and I highly doubt that they exist.
For further details of the HP-UX version of 'tftpd', I'd ask in one of the HP-UX forums, not the Linux forums.

Re: can not copy file on TFTP sever unless already exist in server
Note of caution.
tftp server on HP-UX 11 requires that the user tftp own the files being made available via tftp. There may be some way to open things up, but I assume this default behavior was a security enhancement.
