Can you write DOS 6.0 files to SUSE NFS mount?
Okay I know this is a strange question, but a vendor wanted to know if they could write out some of their DOS files out to a SUSE box that has an NFS mount to a bunch of disks.
When he did do the copy command, it actually worked (so he did get it NFS mounted), but then it complained and said it couldn't write even though it did. He is not able to see though what he copied...in other words he can't retrieve it.
Anyone have experience with such a scenario? is it possible to get it to really work?
Thanks!
Angie

Re: Can you write DOS 6.0 files to SUSE NFS mount?
DOS 6.0 by itself does not have any NFS support. So you vendor is using some extra software to make the NFS mount happen. It will be hard to answer without knowing more about it.
Is it a "real" NFS or PCNFS? The latter may need some extra arrangements in the NFS server compared to a normal NFS between unix-like hosts.
(Zero points please, because this is just a request for more info.)
