Unable to load cciss driver diskette (2.6.10-14) when booting from SLES9 SP2 for installation on ML370 G5. Although OS matrix says SLES9 SP1 or greater is supported, you cannot load the cciss driver diskette unless booted from SP3. Any ideas how to make this work with SP2? For various reasons, I need to install 2.6.5-7.202 kernel (which I can get with a SP2 install and then partial SP3 patch update). If I install with SP3, I'm already at kernel 2.6.5-7.244 - which I don't want.

						Hello Steve,
Have seen this before, looks like a miscommunication since you need SP3.
SLES9 SP3 will work.

ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/cpq_cciss-2.6.10-11.sles9.i586.dd.gz
Readme,
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/cpq_cciss-2.6.10-11.sles9.i586.dd.gz.txt
I presume you are using P600 controller.

Yes, this seems to work. I tried the old driver (2.6.10-11.sles9.i586.dd.gz) right after I submitted the support request and was able to get the cciss driver loaded. I am concerned though, since it is the newer (2.6.10-14) driver which first claims to support the P400 controller that I am using. It seems odd that an older driver, without support for my hardware, is what is needed.
