CCISS Monitoring under Slackware
Hi,
How could we monitor the status of the array's connected to Smart Array 6i and running with CCISS driver under Linux ? (Not suse or redhat) Slackware.
Is there a utility to see the status of the array and the drives? or if one of the drive fails, does the driver writes an warning to a log file?
thanks for your help.
ali.

Re: CCISS Monitoring under Slackware
Hello Ali,
HP doesn't provide array monitoring utilities on slackware system.
But you can still give a try on HP system insight manager, it is SNMP based and can gather more information than array's.
HP System Insight Manager is free for download.
BTW: We have a large customer in China has hundred proliant servers with slackware installed, failed to get such kind support from HP. There are many open source system monitoring solution based upon SNMP.

Re: CCISS Monitoring under Slackware
Do you know how to get and install this software, and do you have the SNMP MIBS's to monitor the status of array controller?
We could write our own tools to get data from SNMP.

Please check the following link to download the HP SIM and documents. SIM has certain MIBs bundled.
