check file chmod from shell

hi

is it possible to check file chmod from
shell (Konsole)?

Normally I don't know if the file is chmoded
to 444 or 555.

Using WinSCP program is not a problem,
but how it works from command line (shell) ?

kind regards
chris

Just installed winscp to see what you mean.

the command:
ls -l
gives you the same details.

Re: check file chmod from shell

Hi

You cannot see the numbers on the files
444 will look like
-r--r--r--
555 will look like
-r-xr-xr-x

You can do a man on chmod
