I'd like to create backups from some copy protected DVD, only for my private use.
Does it work this way to circumvent the copy-protection?
# dd if=/dev/dvd of=/tmp/backup.iso
and then burn backup.iso on an empty DVD.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Re: circumvent the copy-protection
A dvd slug costs a few dollars.
Try it out. It is likely to work.

Re: circumvent the copy-protection
Tools like vobcopy shall help - it will decrypt them provided you have the right libdvdread library.
