command comparison

Hi All,

Is there a web page out there that does a comparison between linux and hpux commands. Any help will be greatly appreciated and points will be assigned.

Re: command comparison

Absolutely NOT possible!

You will be able to find some basics, but in general tools available in HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, Irix, Aix, SCO, etc... are so different that you can not compare. Linuxconf can in a sense compare to SAM, but when Linux does not use volume groups the same as HP-UX how can you compare vgimport?

Some things just dont exist, so there is no equivalent. I.E. set_parms in HP-UX.

Best bet is to look for a light weight book to give you just basics of each OS. I.E. "Unix System Administration Guide published by O'Reilly and Associates".
