corrupted file

I've tried downloading the j2sdk file for linux several times from a few different places and everytime i get to the part where you agree with the user license, it goes to unpacking and then checksumming followed by a message about the download file appears to be corrupted.

PS. the file size matched what it was supposed to...

Re: corrupted file

This seems like the old ascii/binary problem.

If I download a file to my pc, and upload it to the Linux box ascii mode, it doesn't work because the transfer is supposed to be binary.

Filesize is right, file is useless.

could this be happening here?

Perhaps try the download in X mode using the browser on the console of the Linux box in question. These eliminates such errors.

I'm in business now. I just got a little bit outdated version of it from another one of our servers. Thanks.

Re: corrupted file

Is it for your tomcat installation that you had problem with ?
If so then you should really get the latest JVM.

Re: corrupted file

Hello Kyle,

I've just downloaded 1.4.2_03 directly from
SUN and installed it without any problems. If you need access to this copy drop me a note at zinser@zinser.no-ip.info and I shall arrange with you the transfer details.

Greetings, Martin
