CUPS restarting Automatically...

Hi guru, it's urjent
CUPS service is getting stopped and again restarted automatically.
can you tell me what is the reason and how to trace the problem.

Shalom amit,

/var/log/messages

Will show the restart.

Make sure cups is not configured in /etc/inittab

If CUPS is configured to run in a cluster the cluster software is designed to restart it.

cups may have its own log which would give you more precise information.

Configure /etc/cups/cupsd.conf:

ErrorLog /var/log/cups/error_log

LogLevel debug


Check the log file when the problem occurs. Check if your file system is not full.
