Disk from one DL380G6 to a DL380P GEN8
I need to clone one server HP Proliant DL380G6 to another HP Proliant DL380P GEN8.
Is it possible to move one system operating disk from one DL380G6 to a DL380P GEN8?. Are these two servers compatible ? Or maybe I have to install this new server (HP Proliant DL380P GEN8) from CD?
Thanks a lot of!
Carmen.

Re: Disk from one DL380G6 to a DL380P GEN8
Hello, there is 2 generations diference in these server. Probably OS from old one will be able to boot, but for sure will find lot of new hardware etc..
Please have on mind, disk cages from previous generations are not compatibble with Gen8 ones...
