DV2700 not booting from DVD/CD ROM DRIVE

hi,

 

I am unable to boot the dv2700 laptop using Linux DVD ROM.

 

I checked the bios and the boot order is looking fine. The same DVD is working fine in sony laptop.

 

could you suggest something?

 

Even from the OS, I am unable to read/write contents of CD/DVD.

Can you read any other DVDs with the DVD drive of the dv2700?

 

If not, it would seem the DVD drive has failed.
