error message "hda: bad special flag 0x03"
need help on how to remove this error message. basically, i installed Redhat on my HP Proliant DL380 G3, after i finish installing and reboot the server this message keep on appearing on the screen. Found some info over the net saying that its due to the CDROM. I take out the CDROM then the error don't appear. Putting back the CDROM will again shows this error message.
do anyone knows hows to remove this message w/ my CDROM connected?
appreciate any suggestion...
rgds,
Bong

Re: error message "hda: bad special flag 0x03"
2) If you don't like item 1, I'd suggest betting the latest bios flash for the server and updating it.
3) If the problem is truly OS software alone, up2date to the latest release and the issue should go away.
4) Change the boot order for the server.

Re: error message "hda: bad special flag 0x03"
I have RH AS2.1U3 and U4 on DL360 G3. I see this message only at boot time and I ignore it. Did you take out the CDROM player or disc?
Did you check the Linux for Proliant pages: http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/linux/index.html

Re: error message "hda: bad special flag 0x03"
BIOS is already updated as per the current version, i even tried some of your suggestion but the message still appears.
JP,
yes it shows during boot time, but the irritating part is that, it will just show in no definite time. At first i just ignore it but, if once i leave the server for few hours the message will just pop out at least 5 to 6 times.
any more suggestion...
rgds,
Bong
