failover setup in RHL AS 2.1

Could anyone help me to configure a failover setup in RHL Advanced server 2.1.

There are many levels of failover setup. A simple and very effective solution is setting up of two machines on the LAN with `heartbeat'. This can also be setup over a WAN, across two remote machines. You can also implement RAID1 across your network (ENBD/DRBD) and when combined with a HA package like `hearbeat', it becomes very effective.

I found "Red Hat cluster Manager Installation and Configuration Guide" very useful.

I vote for MCSG,

I cannot recommend Serviceguard for simple reason:

SG (at least all SG versions I know) needs kernel patching/recompilation in order to support LVM and more.

This will prevent from you to upgrade Linux kernel when RH issues security fixes.

I agree with Vitaly, I would use drbd if I needed to have shared storage in the cluster.

Here's a link to the homepage:

Look around for howto's there are a few links on their documentation page.
