Fast HPE NICs not supported by linux?
I have tried to install Ubuntu 22.04 and 23.04 and Rocky Linux 8.6 and 8.8, but none of them seem to be able to speak to the NICs. I haven't been able to pull a byte from the internet aver several installs, and it is rather disheartening, especially for enterprise class gear.
I tried to load drivers from the RHEL 8.4 Advisory, seemed like a logical fix. But it didn't fix either of the Rocky installs (I only saw RPMs, and while I am a grownup and can convert packages, that was suspicious).
Is there a solution? Has HPE abandoned Linux support after early 8.0 version fo RHEL (or just kernel 4.18.300+?)and other equivalents? I can't seem to find the docs, the searches avail me nothing, Surely I can't be the only person trying to use these great servers for baremetal. VMware ran fine, but I'm not looking for VMware.
Please advise. This is a big problem for us and the idea of not being able to trust HPE gear would be very unpleasant.
This is the 640FLR-SFP28 model and we have built our business on trusting them. We need a solution and somehow, I don't see any real suggestions for what surely is an enormous issue for supportes of HPE networking (we have some non-HPE 100GBE cards that run just fine, confounded as to what is going on here):

Re: Fast HPE NICs not supported by linux?
Hello,
I'm not sure what type of server is in use, but HPE does have support for Ubuntu on most of the server product line.
Community Enterprise Linux (CEL) distro's would require the use in in-box drivers also.

Re: Fast HPE NICs not supported by linux?
I notice DL385 Gen10 is not listed (though gen10+ and gen11 are), but everything works except for the NIC on all of these operating systems. Surely someone has come across this before.
